Remember to verify your registrant contact
WHOIS database is a public database that lists a domain owners information. The most important contact in the WHOIS database is the registrant contact, which indicates the owner of the domain. The owner is responsible, for all matters related to the domain name, including dispute resolution.
When you register a new .com, .org, .info and other domain names, you will receive an email from us to verify your email address which is listed in the WHOIS database.
In an effort to ensure WHOIS information is up-to-date and accurate, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), enforced a policy which came into effect on 1st January 2014. You can read more about this policy here.
As per the policy, if a domain is not verified within 14 days - it is automatically suspended. Don't forget to verify your registrant contact information immediately after your next domain registration!
ICANN is a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation with participants from all over the world dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable and interoperable. It promotes competition and develops policy on the Internet's unique identifiers. Through its coordination role of the Internet's naming system, it does have an important impact on the expansion and evolution of the Internet.
